Joe Calabrese Obituary: Springfield, PA – In Loving Memory of Joseph Peter Calabrese (1979–2025)

Springfield, PA – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Peter Calabrese, 45, a beloved member of the Springfield community, who died peacefully surrounded by his family on July 17, 2025.

Born in Drexel Hill, PA, Joseph was the cherished son of Joseph and Marianne (Rinaldi) Calabrese. He was a proud graduate of Springfield High School (Class of 1998) and later earned an associate’s degree in Restaurant Management from Delaware County Community College (Class of 2002).

Joseph’s professional life reflected his deep passion for food and hospitality. Over the years, he built a career working with several respected establishments including MC Catering, Springfield Ravioli, Thunderbird Pizza, Philadelphia Airport Marriott, Stephen’s on State, D’Aversa Builders, and most recently, Nick’s Roast Beef. At every stop, Joseph formed lasting bonds with coworkers who became lifelong friends.

His love for cooking extended well beyond his professional life. He took great joy in preparing meals for holiday gatherings, often being the heart of family functions. Joseph’s devotion to his extended family was unmatched—he found true happiness in being surrounded by loved ones and sharing his culinary talents.

A passionate supporter of Philadelphia sports, Joseph was a loyal fan of the Phillies and Eagles. He followed his teams to away games with his brothers and friends and celebrated their triumphs at the championship parades. His love for the Mummer’s Parade spanned over three decades—initially as an enthusiastic spectator and later as a proud Comic marching in the festivities.

Joseph leaves behind a loving family: his parents Joseph and Marianne, his siblings Anthony, Louis, and Anna (Brian Regan), and his treasured nieces and nephews Noah, Natalie, and David. He is reunited in eternal peace with his grandparents Louis and Anna Calabrese and Rocco and Mary Rinaldi, his Godfather Peter Calabrese, and other dearly missed relatives including Aunt Helen, Uncle Lou, Aunt Mary Ann Calabrese, and Cousin Stephen Rinaldi.
