A Life Full of Love and Service
Born on September 15, 1992, in Pittsburgh’s East End, Autumn grew up surrounded by close-knit family and friends who recognized her innate kindness from a young age. She excelled at Riverview Elementary and Westinghouse High School, later earning a degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh.
After graduation, Autumn devoted her career to helping at-risk youth, working as a youth counselor for local nonprofits and Pittsburgh Public Schools. Colleagues remember her as:
-
Empathetic and motivational, always ready with encouragement;

A thoughtful listener who supported students through challenges;
-
A community leader, organizing volunteer programs and mentoring youth.
Community Mourns a Beloved Advocate
Autumn’s presence was felt far beyond her work. She actively contributed to food drives, mental-health awareness campaigns, and neighborhood beautification projects. Her compassionate outlook and positive energy inspired others to join and carry forward her legacy of giving.
In the wake of this loss, community leaders, former coworkers, and students have expressed sincere condolences. Reverend Lisa Ramirez of Trinity United Church shared, “Autumn was a shining light whose generosity and warmth lifted us all.”
Family Remembers a Cherished Daughter, Sister, and Friend
She is survived by her parents, Karen and Michael Powell; younger brother, Samuel; and many beloved cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. The family expressed gratitude to Pittsburgh Medical Center staff for their kindness and support.
A private memorial will be held for family, with a public celebration of Autumn’s life planned for July 30 at Schenley Park Pavilion, starting at 2 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring flowers, photos, or written memories to share.
