Kevin Boylan Obituary: Kingston, PA Mourns Local Restaurant Icon
Kingston, PA — July 2025 — The Kingston community is grieving the sudden loss of Kevin Boylan, beloved founder of Kevin’s Bar & Restaurant. Kevin passed away on July 18, 2025, surrounded by friends and family, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, warmth, and community spirit.
A Life Defined by Hospitality and Heart
Born and raised in Kingston, Kevin transformed his dream into reality with the creation of Kevin’s Bar & Restaurant—a true cornerstone of the borough. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, hearty laughter, live music, and sense of family, his establishment became much more than a business—it was a beloved local meeting spot where all felt at home.
Kevin’s genuine interest in others, whether regulars or newcomers, left a lasting impression. As JJ Iracki remarked:
“Some people leave a lasting impression—that was Mr. Kevin Boylan. He always greeted me with a smile and a hug… You and Janet always made me feel like part of the family.”
Community Pillar and Joyous Spirit
Beyond the walls of his restaurant, Kevin played a vital role in organizing Boylan Golf Tournaments and Parade Day celebrations—festivals that showcased his love for community, music, and camaraderie. His booming voice often led patrons in Irish ballads, uniting everyone in song.
When the news broke of his passing, Murphy’s Pub shared a heartfelt tribute:
“May the road rise up to meet you… May the sun shine warmly on your face… until we meet again.”
Kevin’s generous heart extended beyond convivial gatherings. He mentored many, supporting local youth and providing a listening ear to anyone in need.
Family, Friends & Legacy
Kevin is survived by his devoted wife Janet, his children Joseph, Shannon, and Clancy, and a wide circle of family and friends who considered him a guiding presence. The community also mourns alongside the Boylan family as they cope with their nephew Michael Baur’s recent passing.
A memorial service will be held at Kevin’s Bar—an emblem of his spirit and connection to Kingston—on July 26, at 3 p.m., details to be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations are being collected for local youth mentorship programs and community development initiatives.

Kevin’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in Kingston’s social fabric. Yet, his legacy lives on in the laughter, gatherings, and shared stories he so passionately fostered. As we remember him, let us carry forward his love for kindness, storytelling, and celebration of everyday moments.
